For more than 60 years, Suresh Lonkar has dedicated his whole life to Indian folk art. He crafted lots of musical instruments, such as Nagara, Tabla, Dholki, and Ghumat, and taught lots of students. His passion for the arts is unfathomable. There was an overwhelming, pleasant energy in the house when I first met him. His home is filled with numerous musical instruments and sculptures. His voice was so gentle and serene, as he said. He is revered as a national hero in India. When I talked to his family member about, "Do governments help them in a specific way so artists can grow and promote the cultural heritage of India?". His family member said that "they didn't get any help from any government."
